Earlier in May, Kodak Black was arrested in Broward County in Florida for a handsome list of warrants, including false imprisonment and armed robbery. To counter the pile of warrants, Kodak and his crew arrived at a plea of no contest for all charges, and was allowed to return home.
According to XXL, Michael Kushner, Executive Vice President of Legal at Atlantic Records, had this to say about the recently turned 19 year old rapper:
“He’s only at the very beginning of a very promising career […] It is our hope that the court will agree that he be given the opportunity to turn his life around.”
Lisa Porter, the judge conducting the hearing, accepted the plea and said, ““I will give you an opportunity, Mr. Octave, to prove yourself here, and be a productive member of society […] What happens from here on out is up to you.”
Hopefully Kodak Black keeps a steady streak going forward. The Florida rapper recently made waves with his appearance on XXL as a freshman, and received recognition for his 2016 project, Lil Big Pac.
