Frank Ocean is a litteral embodiment of his name. After being frank with us about his new album, that he has neither confirmed or denied (’til now). And being as mysterious and vast as the ocean with his intel, we now have a release date for Boys Don’t Cry. Thank the lord almighty.
One would think almost four years without an album would make the world push Mr. Ocean under the rug, but nope. His teasing and delayed responses have only made us want him more. Similar to the way your crush pays you no attention, yet makes your desire for them increase ten fold, yep, the world is crushing HARD on Frank.
The word around town is that Boys Don’t Cry will be released under Apple Music with the deal that they are the only ones who can have rights to his music for the first two weeks of release. How stingy! (I got my Apple Music subscription though, you can bet that.) The release date is this Friday, August 5th so don’t make any plans except to dive into the beautiful ocean of frank. You may need to even clear the weekend, or better yet, the following week. Whatever floats your boat.
I know the title is Boys Don’t Cry, but I may shed a tear in pure DISBELIEF and WONDER, OK? I know y’all feel me. (Clears throat.) Anyway, to top off the album, it is rumored that there will be a print version, titled the same as the album. Both will be released under Apple Music of course, those lucky dogs.
Until this Friday, let us all pray he does not pull the rug out from under us once again. I don’t know if my heart can take it. Also visit the interesting Frank Ocean page for any surprise or exclusive content.
