Rap beef has gone hand in hand with the genre for as long as time could tell. In an atmosphere that is oftentimes reliant on who can create the most clever and cryptic bars, the matter of “one-upping” another person is bound to happen; especially when those lyrics are braggadocio in nature.
The Game has recently had beef with Young Thug, 50 Cent, and Stitches, with the former two having patched up their issues. The Game isn’t satisfied though- and rightfully so, because there’s a lot of things out of favor for artists in the industry.
“Sauce” throws shots at some peculiar, unexpected targets, and features a man who just released an album dedicated to uplifting spirits. DJ Khaled comes in the introduction hyping up the work that The Game’s about to put in.
Game references The Source, The Grammys, and the Kardashians in his tirade. Lines like “Never had 5 mics in my life so fuck The Source ho/As far as awards go, they gave away my Grammy/Gave it to Missy, I was too gangster and they ain’t understand me/I had too much sauce” hammer home feelings of frustration about the industry not recognizing The Game’s dedication to his craft.
