The official minute-long trailer for the upcoming FX series, Atlanta dropped on Friday (Aug 12).
Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover who plays Earnest “Earn” Marks, an aspiring manager who returns to the ATL to discover that his cousin, Alfred “Paperboy” Miles played by (Brian Tyree Henry), claims fame after his music goes viral. The show also stars Keith Stanfield, who played Snoop Dogg in the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, Zazie Beetz, and Bankroll PJ, the cousin of the late Bankroll Fresh.
In Atlanta, two cousins work through the city’s music scene in order to better their lives and the lives of their families. “The thesis with the show was kind of to show people how it felt to be black,” Glover said. The series is executive produced and written by Glover along with Paul Simms and Dianne McGunigle of MGMT Entertainment. Atlanta’s 10-episode first season premieres on FX on September 6th.
