Braxton Family Values: Season 5 Episode 13 ‘Flippin’ the Bird’ [Weekly Recap]

The 100th episode kicked off in L.A. Trina Braxton, Traci Braxton, and Towanda Braxton are back in town for their obligations and getting a bite to eat. Towanda tells her sisters that she has a meeting with her acting coach and she hoping for a good assignment. It has been difficult balancing training in L.A. and her children in Atlanta. Trina brings up the New Orleans dinner and how Tamar Braxton walked away, but she can talk about everybody else, past or present. Trina wants to open up an outside dining area at Bar Chix, but there is only one problem, she can’t even open up the patio because of her fear of birds. She has to get over this bird phobia to move on to the next plan level for Bar Chix and in life. Can I taste your Dulce-de-li-chi fancy pants?

Towanda meets with her acting coach, David Lee Strasberg to discuss a monologue. He wants her to commit and wants to see her more. What is she doing between seeing him? It is hard to re-train habits after so long. She agrees that she is 100% committed and it has gotten so real so fast.

Tamar picks up Trina for a little shopping and there is something that she has been thinking about doing and she wants to share it with her. Camping is the question; Tamar isn’t here for that. Trina has bird baths at her house on this planet called earth. Tamar asked, “You never heard of the birds and the bees, they gon’ be around forever.” Trina is thinking about going to see a hypnotherapist so she can stop being afraid of birds. She doesn’t want to chicken out, no pun intended. Tamar thinks that might be witchcraft. Tamar will go for support. After you eat the problems are still there. Chicken gives you closure, you ate the problem, it shouldn’t have been clucking.

At Tamar’s house, she stays busy in these streets and Vincent Herbert tells her some people in New York are interested in doing a Broadway play with her; creating it and all. Her and sisters have an opportunity to do their own show, Braxton Family on Broadway. Traci, Trina, and Towanda are not ready to workout, but they decided to do something more active. Towanda is staying out in L.A. to work on her craft more and Trina wants her in Atlanta. Towanda doesn’t know who to make happy. Trina feels like a Valasa rapper. There need a cocktail now!

Trina is using Tamar’s guest house for her hypnotherapy session. The family is there to support. “Shallow Hal wants a gal,” says Toni Braxton!

Towanda has to break the news to her children about her decision to work more in L.A. Her children are more understanding than what she thought to her being a mom and an aspiring actress. She just can’t handle it.

Trina, Towanda, and Tamar are on the way to the park for the next part of Trina’s therapy. While she is a fantastical driver, she is wishing she wore tennis shoes so she can run. Towanda has motion sickness, but where is Traci Braxton? Duck-duck-goose, the closer they get, the slower she drives.

Tamar and Vince meet with the producers about the Braxtons on Broadway. Towanda shows her sisters her new place that she is renting out while she is there. The Braxton name is tarnished at Golf Camp.
