With a solid understanding of music having been in and out of studios since the age of 13, Black Buffet is no stranger to the inner working of the music industry. Nor is he a stranger to the world of writing and journalism where he previously wrote for several newspapers and magazines.Taking that unique perspective of life and the music game, Black Buffet has a seemingly wise perspective beyond his years of how to navigate the inner workings and struggles of life. Inspired by the disappointment of
Hip-Hop on the radio and feeling like he could do better himself, Black Buffet started taking music more seriously in 2015. “I’ve been in and out of studio since I was 13 working on ASR 10’s and Korg Tritons, so I was really starting to write songs and produce at an early age,”Black Buffet explained. “In February of 2015 I released Plugs & Pistols because I was tired of hearing what they were doing on the radio. My uncle always told me if you don’t like something, don’t complain be about it, fix it and do something, so I released my project.”
When asked about what’s lacking in the game and what he’s adding, Black Buffet explained that his music was for the average man and is written and produced as a guide to others.
My music is about life man, I make music for the average joe, its more like an instruction manual on how to get through life in a sense. So when you look at it like that – you got a lot of different things that you can get from my music.
“I’ve got a background in journalism, I have a novel that’s out and I’ve written in various magazines, so I think I have an objective eye and that I can tell a story. I’m just chronicling the life of an everyday person just trying to survive and get out of somewhere,” Black Buffet said. The blueprint seems to be working for Black Buffet as this young talent recently garnered airplay on iHeartRadio and was invited to visit Kay Slay’s Sirius XM Radio show. Currently Black Buffet is working on the release of his project Plugs & Pistols 2. The first single from the project is called “Memoirs of a Hustler” and features an accompanying visual (see links above).
“Right now we are just pushing ‘Memoirs of a Hustler,’ its like taking you down memory lane, and it sprinkles the details around, showing you what it’s really like in the life of a hustler, not just a drug dealer, but the world of the hustler – they are two different people. A hustler chases the bread, and it doesn’t matter how, he just wants the bread. The dealer wants to push drugs and thats all he cares about,” Black Buffet said of his lead single on Plugs & Pistols 2.
