YG is keeping the political music coming, with something that you probably didn’t see coming!
He’s joined forces with rappers G-Eazy and Macklemore for “FDT Part 2,” who many may see as quite the unlikely collaboration for the Compton rapper. YG drops the track as a reminder to America whilst the Republican National Convention has been taking place in Ohio.
Shots are definitely fired on the track as all three rappers went in on Donald Trump. G-Eazy goes in with the first verse likening the candidate’s rallies to those of Hitler’s in Berlin. The rapper also labels Trump a ‘terrorist.’
‘This man’s not peaceful, racism’s evil/This man hates Muslims, that’s a billion f***in’ people/If truth be told, Donald is a terrorist…’
In the second verse, Macklemore explores the potential of a get-out plan if Trump wins, with his wife being half Canadian:
‘Party in the streets when Hillary wins/If she don’t, my girl’s half Canadian/Actually nah, I’m not gonna stay with them/I got an eagle on my arm, I’m a patriot/I’ma stay right here, I ain’t livin’ in fear/With my people who are Muslims, Mexican and queer…’
YG brings in his verse last and suggests that one of the reasons he chose to bring in Macklemore and G-Eazy on the track was to prove that even those of the same race as Trump him don’t like him. The “Who Do You Love?”rapper even proposes a new solution for America’s government:
‘Since America is f***ed up anyway/Give Obama a third term, that’s what plenty say…’
