Charleston SC native, Tek Neek, is “Forever Thuggin” on his new SENSEi Kief produced single. The slowed down banger plays host to lyrics that question the current environment of social injustices the African American community is facing. Since Hip Hop has always been a creative medium for self-expression, Tek Neek shares his frustrations, hopes and thoughts on recent tragic events. Having a voice, especially in Hip Hop, you are burden with the responsibility of using your talents for the greater good.
Tek Neek takes it upon himself to share his views, through lyrics, and hopes it provokes more conversation and forward-thinking on these issues. “Forever Thuggin” also reveals another side of the Charleston native’s sound, following the release of his Jazz-infused, “Something You Ain’t Used 2.”
The artist is the poetic product of Charleseton, South Carolina, a place where pushing past the “crab in a bucket” mentality is a must. It’s that very environment that has boosted Tek’s creativity and work ethic as an artist, however. “I’m an embodiment of Charleston Hip Hop,” he states. After gaining momentum with his collaboration with Yung Texxus and Bun B a few years back, Tek is ready to unleash new music on his own, as a self-produced rapper.
