The four horseman of modern day jazz are back with their fourth full length LP. BadBadNotGood is a Jazz ensemble from Toronto Canada. The group busted on to the scene in 2012 thanks in part from getting co-signs from rappers like Tyler the Creator and Ghostface Killah.
Since then, BBNG have been featured in the critically acclaimed TED Talks and The Tonight Show. The group released a full length album in 2015, with Wu-Tang artist Ghostface Killa, in a project called Sour Soul.
This new record that the group pre-released on Apple Music, has 10 tracks with two features. The guests that appear on this album are none other than Mick Jenkins and Kaytranada.
From one listen, this LP has a ton of epic moments on it that will make you think that you are listening to an old Coaltrane album. Though with a modern day twist of 808’s and synths to pair with the amazing live instrumentation.
These guys came correct for this record, so it is definitely worth a listen. If you were a fan of the latest Kaytranada album, than BBNG IV is right up your ally. From the amazing groves of the intro (And That, Too) to the uncompromising melodies of the title Track. Expect this record to be in your rotation heavy if your Jazz fan or just someone who love great beats. Either way BBNG IV is the way to go.
You can stream the full-length LP bellow or on Apple Music now.
