Just one day after the 2016 NBA Finals, the ESPN First Take family had to say goodbye to Skip Bayless, one half of the dynamic duo between him and Stephen A. Smith. Skip Bayless worked for ESPN for 12 great years, but all great things must come to an end. Even though Bayless will be missed, the show must go on. Bayless will be replaced by long time colleague, Max Kellerman.
Kellerman was the original host of ESPN’s Around the Horn, a co-host on ESPN’s Sports Nation and a co-host on ESPN Radio’s Max & Marcellus on 710AM in Los Angeles. Kellerman is excited to join the First Take family permanently after a few episodes where he was filling in for Bayless’s absence. ““I’m thrilled to join the excellent team at ‘First Take,’” Kellerman said. “Years back, on-the-air and in the hallways of ESPN Radio New York, Stephen A. and I would engage in detailed and thoughtful discussions on sports and every other topic you can imagine. To do that again, now for the ‘First Take’ audience, is going to be a lot of fun.” says Kellerman. He will be permanently co-hosting along Stephen A. Smith starting July 25th. You can view ESPN’s First Take from ten a.m. to noon every weekday eastern standard time on ESPN 2.
