Rick Ross’ keen eye for talent has never been questioned before, therefore it shouldn’t now. The Maybach Music Group owner just signed the man who has been seen spitting a technical and poet freestyle to Rozay on a youtube video. The rapper’s name is Isa Muhammad and he has been seen hanging around Rick Ross as well as other MMG artists in the past month. Though there has been rumors everywhere about him being signed in the last few weeks, it is now official that Isa Muhammad is an MMG member.
According to a press release, Ross feels strongly about this decision and goes on to say:
“This kid gave me his heart when he was spitting and the internet got a hold of the video I put up on my snapchat. I wanted to give an opportunity for someone else to be put on. I know so many people in his same position. MMG is about giving back and pushing the culture forward by finding new and real talent. Isa Muhammad will reflect quality rap music and MMG is going to make sure of that.”
After being brought in like family and even allowed to release a song on his own MMG Soundcloud, Muhammad is now here to show the world what he is capable of. Though the video that has been spiraling around shows a man with great hunger, vicious word play, and an extensive vocabulary, the world will always be wanting more.
Congratulations to Isa Muhammad, this is a true accomplishment and a visual representation of the quote on quote, American dream. To be homeless one day and signed to a major record company the next, is in the hearts of many, and Isa Muhammads story embodies that.
