After making an impressive debut with their single “Bad Only“, Colorado new age Hip-Hop group Ave Emi follow with the spacey new EP Faux Hearts. Collaborating with frequent producing partner, Davey Boy, the 6-track-project is a wavy but brief journey into the minds and lives of the group. Anchored by the aforementioned “Bad Only” and the bouncy track “Replay“, Faux Hearts is a R&B heavy project that delves in to the intricacies of modern love… and love making.
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, the group is attempting to bring the new “trapsoul” sound that was famously coined by Bryson Tiller, to their home state. No track showcases this more than, “Influence” with the bouncy Tillerish beat. Complimented with the lyrics, “It be so good, it be so good/ we forgot why we was mad in the first place”, the track embodies the overall theme of the project. Gettin’ Busy. Other standouts include, “One Hundered” and the heartfelt new aged ballad “Not The Same”.
