On Saturday, Lil Yachty and members of the Sail Team took over Charlotte, NC. Yachty, also known as Lil Boat, was in town to do a show for his North Carolina fans, at the Neighborhood Theater. Preceding his arrival, Lil Boat took to twitter to address his fans. He received so much love and feedback, that he decided to hold a last minute meet and greet at The Social Status store, in downtown Charlotte.
The Meet and Greet was scheduled for 4pm, but by 3pm, the line was around the building. Many fans came out with various things for Yachty to sign, including life jackets, money, oars, and even fishing poles. Watching the love he received was unreal. Some people that finally got in to take pictures were sweaty and had been waiting for hours. Boat did not disappoint his fans at all though by cutting it short or being mean to anyone. He was even nice enough to play a few unreleased tracks. Yachty did not come alone, he brought J Ban$, Burberry Perry, and Big Brotha Chubba with him, all members of his Sail team. They were all into the fan love as well. The legendary Coach K, Yachty’s manager and manger to countless other artists including Migos, was also in attendance.
After the meet and greet Yachty and the gang headed over to the Neighborhood Theater to hold the concert. The concert was supposed to start at 9pm, which many people who stood in line for 2 or more hours, did not get in until around 11. Although, while waiting for Yachty to come out, DJ Dureal (offical Migos Dj) kept everyone “turnt” up. Yachty finally made his way to the stage and the crowd went wild.
He proceeded to perform his music while the crowd went into more and more of a frenzy. Yachty even jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed for a bit. The Sail Team helped with the performance with Burberry Perry performing alongside him with the hit single, “Wanna be Us”, from his Lil Boat mixtape. They all continuously threw water into the crowd, which the fans loved. The concert did however come to a brief halt once he performed his hit “Minnesota”. The crowd went out of control and stormed the stage. Lil yachty was loving every bit of it.
Before leaving, he shouted out the city of Charlotte by saying “This has been one of the livest shows I’ve ever done.” With that, we can expect to see Lil Boat back in Charlotte again soon.
