Savannah, GA native LaScrilla serves up his first offering from his upcoming “Against All Odds” project. The newest Street Execs affiliate hops on the Chophouze produced track “On Me“ to give us some insight on what we can expect from the trapper-turned-rapper.
Rappers from Savannah often gather a buzz and immediately pledge allegiance to Atlanta and It’s understandable. Atlanta is a major hip-hop market that seems to break new artists weekly. Despite these theories, LaScrilla makes it clear that he’s a product of Savannah; Seaport to be exact.
As the July 15th release of his sophomore offering, Against All Odds, creeps upon us, LaScrilla seems more focused on breaking through now than ever. Time is valuable to the young musician, as he lost 6 years of his youth to the Georgia Judicial System. He’s on a mission to share his past struggles, and expose the the grittiness of his city to the masses.
2016 has already become a defining year in his career, from his newfound affiliation with Atlanta’s legendary Street Execs label, to becoming one of the first Savannah artists since Camouflage to shine some of the southern-rap spotlight back onto Savannah. Be on the lookout as this short, but potent project will help LaScrilla establish his lane in hip-hop for years to come.
Stream the track and look out for the 4 track EP on July 15th.
