“He fired a shot…. and s**t happened, we pulled off and he end up dead. That’s as simple as [the] s**t was. S**t was that simple like.”
Throughout the entirety of his interview with DJ Vlad, rapper No Plug maintained a thick coating of a nonchalance, which showcased itself in his various countenances and cadence when asked about his substantially long relationship with Bankroll Fresh, whose death earlier this year spread morose vibes throughout the Hip-Hop community.
“We met when we was probably 10 or 12, some shit like that.”
The lack of assurance in his voice, as well as in his word choice, sets the tone for the rest of the interview, where No Plug details his feelings- or lack thereof- concerning his former friend.
The altercation ensued at “Street Execs Studios” in Atlanta, Georgia, after a dispute between the two artists concerning a girl. After No Plug arrived at Street Exec Studios to retrieve a previously lost cell phone, he was confronted by Bankroll Fresh and his associates, having been threatened by the presence of a friend who he has not seen “eye to eye” with for a very long time.
DJ Vlad said, “you pulled your gun out, he was hit,” To which No Plug responded, “Yeah…. shots was fired, he got hit.”
“And he’s the only one who got hit?”
“yyyyyup.” No Plug retorts, smiling after he concludes his sentence.
The death of former friend Bankroll Fresh had an interesting effect on No Plug, who continued utilizing a very unassuming demeanor throughout the entire interview. As far as community reaction goes, the like/dislike ratio for the YouTube video stands at 957 to 1981; which are accompanied by acidic comments and strong opinions.
You can see the video below. Were No Plug’s reactions justified, or inconsiderate?
