Maxo Kream has finally delivered his much anticipated Persona Tape project. The project totals 13 tracks, with features from Key!, Playboi Carti, and Rich The Kid. he has various different producer credits including Chuck English.
Maxo chose to stick to his normal theme of music by surrounding his lyrics around drugs and violence. He occasionally talks about his time of killing people for payment and also his handling of Xanax as well as codeine syrup. With what he talks about, his beat selection is very vital. He always chooses beats that flow just right for those lyrics perfect. It is always beats that are dark but more uptempo that you can really groove to.
Maxo is one of today’s more unique artist. It is not really anyone to compare his sound, or flow too. He has been able to develop a west coast sound with more of southern twist to it. Being from Houston, TX, he doesn’t sound like the normal rapper from the area. Although he may be talking about the same type of stuff most rappers are talking about now of days, it really finds ways to put it differently. His track that he has titled, “Spike Lee,” features Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid, is a complete banger. It highlights the tape at this point, but not to discredit any of the other tracks without features. All in all, it is a preety good project, that was worth the wait. Stay tuned to see more from Maxo in the future. Hopefully a Persona Tape tour is in the works.
