Lauryn Hill finds herself in financial trouble once more as the state of New Jersey has hit her with a tax lien of almost $500,000.
According to the court documents obtained by gossip site Bossip, the singer/rapper owes $438,221 in back taxes. The documents also indicate that she was served her judgment on June 30th.
The state also has a lien under her name from 2012 totaling $446,386.60.
This isn’t the first time the songstress has run into financial issues. Hill served three months in federal prison in 2013 for tax evasion after she was accused of not paying $1 million in back taxes which she addressed in an open letter.
After serving her time, however, she was hit with another lien of almost $900,000.
Aside from her financial woes, Hill has been receiving backlash lately for showing up late to her concerts. Back in May, she was two hours late for a show in Atlanta.
