Joe Budden has never been one to hold his tongue, so earlier this year when he gave his honest opinion on Drake‘s Billboard dominant Views, labeling it as “uninspired”, everyone took notice.
On the May 4th, 2016 episode of his I’ll Name This Podcast Later, Joe Budden said the following about Drake’s latest release Views.
“I think that kid on that album (Views) that I heard sounds real fuc*ing uninspired. That’s what I think. I think that the music is real good. You can’t fool a real ni*ga. That music sounds good and I enjoyed it. 40, you sound amazing, 40 continues to progress. Drake, you do not.”
Further, in a follow-up post to clarify, Joe explained that he didn’t think the subject matter between So Far Gone and Views had differed.
A short while afterward, Drake released “4PM In Calabasas” via OVO Sound Radio, which many fans believed was loaded with jabs at Diddy, but it wasn’t until the following episode of his podcast, that Joe broke down the broke down the song in it’s entirety, showcasing the lyrics he felt were directed at Diddy and those he believes were directed towards him.
It wasn’t until the Instagram post appeared with French Montana previewing “Cocaine City” in the studio with Drake that it was clear that Drizzy was throwing shots at the New Jersey bred emcee, prompting Budden to throw some shots back on his new diss track “Making A Murderer (Part 1).”
But Drake isn’t the only one in Budden’s cross hairs, Drake nemesis Meek Mill is also mentioned on the record, but Meek is declining to respond. Although there hasn’t been official word from Drake’s camp yet regarding whether Drake plans to respond to Budden’s verbal jabs; but one thing is for sure, Drizzy better bring his A-game because Budden’s lyrical game is superb.
