Trust us, we want this as bad as you do. Jay Electronica just hinted at new music coming our way. Fans of the acclaimed hip-hop artist have been waiting nearly 5 years to hear some fresh tracks, which, let’s be honest, might as well be centuries in the fast-paced game that is the music industry. However, it seems that Electronica would like us to believe that wait may soon be over.
“To all those who have been patient with me and supported me over the years, thank you. And get #Tidal #AreYouWatchingClosely?,” he posted via Twitter.

Of course, Jay Elect has been teasing new music for years. The prospect of his upcoming work may even be as mythical and held with the same speculation as rumors of fresh Frank Ocean tracks. However, there are other reasons to believe that this time it might actually happen for the Roc Nation signee.
Jay Electronica has certainly been more on the map this year than in previous years. Remember back in February when his very public beef with Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent went viral? That was something. More notably, Jay Elect took to the West Coast for an all-too-short tour earlier this spring.
Call us optimists, but we sense that the notoriously mythic entity that is Jay Electronica’s music will materialize into reality soon enough.
