Hit–maker Pierre Ramon Slaughter is changing the business and culture of music as a producer.
Miley Cyrus, Future, Rae Sremmurd, Brandy, Diddy and Ciara all have one thing in common and that’s super-producer, Pierre Ramon Slaughter. You may think you don’t know who the producer also known as” Iluvnazty” is, but if you turn on any top radio station or read a few billboard credits, you’ll definitely connect the dots. The Tupelo, Mississippi native put the Magnolia state on the map. He introduced breakout duo and fellow Mississippi rappers, Rae Sremmurd to the music scene, moved major units with Future on “Move that Dope” and brought the world to their feet with Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz,” “We Can’t Stop” and more.
Slaughter’s immense credits display his versatility and musicianship, making him the go to producer when artists and labels need certified hits. His Midas touch ranges from hip hop to pop, rock and gospel. It doesn’t matter what the genre is Slaughter delivers every–time. “Music is everything to me and I want to diversify and grow music in a way that pushes artist to be as creative as possible,” said Slaughter.
After dedicating years to the other side of the music game, Slaughter went into a retreat for almost two years and focused on studying the business of music as well as the soul of music. During that time, he found the balance needed to be both successful and happy. “I learned a lot that I didn’t know about the business side of music and about publishing, split royalties etc,” he said.
“This business is hectic. Sometimes you’re working non-stop and you need time to re-group and take a break. I want to prevent other producer from going through what I went through.”
Slaughter is doing exactly this by concentrating on his own unique label called Music Is My Label, which functions as a tool to educate producers and artists. The label also operates as a new age millennial artist and production development company focusing on not just the creative side of music but the mental and emotional wellbeing of hit–makers and artists. Slaughter intends to change the culture of the music business by inserting honesty and education into the equation. The boot-camp styled training center and support system strengthens artists. “It’s a zen and peaceful atmosphere here,” said Salughter. “I’m mentoring and strengthening producers through segments and workshops that we do entitled the ‘Producers Block.’ We’re creating conversations via TV segments where producers can connect, learn and share among each other . We have producers – Kevin “KD” Davis; Tariq “Blessd” Sharieff, Chase “Chase the Money” Rose, Subbeg “Rick Tick” Singh, Taylor “Tay” Winfield and Quinton Tolber all creating. I’m also working with artists Jahmeik “Freakoh” Tarver , Quinton Tolbert and Hip Hop Rock artist, Juice which allows me to experiment with a vast body of punk rock and alternative hip hop sounds which I love.”
Slaughter welcomes other producers to participate in his “producers block.”
