“Ridin’ in the ‘Bach with the seat way back/This white on white Maybach, I call it payback”
Everybody’s Watching, Gucci Mane’s latest record, is due out this coming Friday, and to tease, Gucci dropped a new single from the track, “Waybach” and one which producer Zaytoven said was his favorite track in this Reddit “Ask Me Anything.” When asked which beat he and Mike WiLL Made-It are most proud of making, he said:
“‘Way Back’ because me and Mike set in the studio fooling around working on some things for Gucci. Once I heard the drums, I heard a certain hop in my head so I immediately jumped on the keyboard and started playing this Reggae tone that made the beat spectacular. Then, Gucci laid his classic verses and hook on the track it instantly was my favorite.”
Gucci also gives Zaytoven ultimate praise in the hook by proclaiming that he’d “rather rap on a Zay track than a Dre track.”
Lyrically, “Waybach” is a braggadocio song about Gucci’s lifestyle and, most importantly, his “White on white Maybach.”
