Could this be the month where Mr. Ocean finally delivers?
Frank Ocean recently took to his tumblr early Saturday morning to post an image of a library card with the dates where his sophomore album Boys Don’t Cry were rumored to drop. The Los Angeles crooner hasn’t released any new material since his successful 2012 album, channel ORANGE.
Last summer, it was rumored that the album would be dropping after the singer posted a photo of him holding two magazines with the captions “I got two versions. I got twoooo versions,” alongside the hashtags #ISSUE1 #ALBUM3 #JULY2015 #BOYSDONTCRY.
Ocean has been hard in the studio working on his new album, while also spending the past four years on his leisure time, giving his opinion on the tragedy in Orlando, hanging out with the Oakland Based God, Lil B, making appearances at Kanye West‘s biggest fashion show in Madison Square Garden this past February, and possibly being in medical school?
Earlier this year, English singer James Blake gave an update to the Ocean fanbase on the upcoming album during his interview with Rolling Stone.
“I was more of a fan of him when I heard his newer music,” Blake said. “It’s better. You grow, you improve, you nail a new message to the board. He’s had time to mature. It’s really cool to watch.”
Hopefully we can expect Boys Don’t Cry this month, and not another letdown.
