Artists almost always stop by in their hometown as a part of their own tour, and usually accompany their performance with a shoutout and a small appreciation rant about how proud they are to be from where they’re from. Chance The Rapper, who recently released the monumental and critically acclaimed mixtape Coloring Book, and announced a tour of the same title, had something a little different in mind.
The Chicago Tribune has an article up detailing an event known as “The Magnificent Coloring Day,” scheduled to happen the same day as Chance’s Chicago stop. The Tribune reports that the mini-festival will “feature appearances from Lil Wayne, Skrillex, John Legend, Tyler, the Creator and more,” and is billed as being the “first ever music festival at U.S. Cellular Field on Chicago’s South Side,” a neighborhood of the Windy City commonly, and controversially, referred to as a part of “Chiraq.”
Tickets for the festival are mysteriously not yet available on the website, with a blank space filling up the area where the link for purchase usually is.
You can listen Coloring Book, the first mixtape which earned a place on the “Billboard 200” off of free streams alone, down below.
