In Atlanta, the sisters have lunch upon Towanda Braxton‘s invite to let them in on her secret. The sisters are excited to find out that she got into a prestigious acting institute. She is finally doing something that she wants to do and not just for the family in singing. Toni Braxton joins the news at the table about Towanda being bi-coastal. Toni also reveals she is working on eating better so when she goes out on dates and that she is trying to go on one tonight. The sisters simultaneously asked, “With who?” She just said it’s this one nice guy that she really likes. The bunch is shocked to hear so tries to cover it by saying she thinks she might like him. Tamar Braxton bursts out in song following the others, “Toni got a ditty…” Toni was not denying it. Questions like who and did you kiss him or get it on arise across the table. It’s been since Desert Storm and now cobwebs. Towanda announces she has an appointment that she would like her sisters to all go with her to, but she is such a secret squirrel all the time.
Traci Braxton, Towanda, and Toni are in the car on the way to Towanda’s mystery appointment. Toni wants to know why Tamar is driving, but they decided they love their life. Toni says that’s Trina Braxton and she doesn’t text and drive and she is Jeff Gordon. Toni screams help and says Tamar can’t drive after she rolled over grass to get back on the highway off the exit.
Back at Tamar’s house, Toni comes over with doughnuts. Tamar will be performing at an event in honor of Smokey Robinson. This will be Tamar’s first time since her hospitalization and sickness so she is nervous with doubts. Toni massages Tamar’s foot across her lap. Tamar wants to find Toni a husband, but she isn’t a charity case. She is just trying to get back out and doesn’t want to be jarred. Any color will do for Toni, but gorgeous is too much work for Tamar. Toni is an alpha woman and doesn’t know how to do the soft stuff so Tamar demonstrates.
In Atlanta, Trina decides to meet with each of her sisters one on one to discuss how they have been making her feel recently. Traci is up first. Towanda is up next until she works her way to the most critical of the bunch.
Mommy (Evelyn Braxton) and Tamar on on the way to the MusiCares concert honoring Smokey Robinson. Tamar decides to dress down and not have the outfit to overpower the performance. Toni thinks Tamar should have dressed a little more formal and like a star so they swap outfits. Tamar finds that she was right. That’s what happens when Toni Braxton is your sister…not your cousin, “Tamar says.
Trina lastly visits her therapist and admits to it still being a bit of a struggle in setting the boundaries with her sisters. She is beginning to wonder why her relationships always turn so sour. She feels like she needs some type of closure from her last relationship and begins to go through possibilities of why. Trina still has unanswered questions even for her children. The conversation steers up some tears of still missing the marriage to her “wasband” because of length of time it was. She makes the ‘we need to talk’ conversation.
