21 Savage and Merto Boomin teased us with a joint mixtape a while ago. Well this morning, it came in to fruition with the release of Savage Mode.
At midnight, the two Atlanta stars dropped a hard nine-track joint mixtape. We were used to hearing 21’s graphic and aggressive lyrical content, that’s what we grew to love. Well here on Savage Mode he elevated himself. And he did it with production all by Metro Boomin and one feature by another ATL native, Future.
It’s obvious that success doesn’t get to 21’s head. Despite the XXL recognition and the millions of views, the young emcee is steady working. He has been dropping new music, staying consistent and keeps getting better. Savage Mode is another one solid body of work by 21 just as his previous work Free Guwop and Slaughter King.
The special thing about 21 Savage is that he does everything on his own. He gained all his popularity from his work ethic. In an interview he did with XXL, he said:
“I didn’t have no label, no marketing team, no promotion team, no nigga with no money behind me, I did all my shit by myself. I just worked hard. I just go out and do it, bruh. It don’t be no plans to it, I just do the shit. I can’t really describe it. Folks just gravitate to us.”
