Vic Mensa stops by The Cruz Show

There’s A Lot Going On, just as Vic Mensa’s latest EP states in the title and track. Not only did he drop one of the meanest freestyles we’ve heard of 2016 (majority vote), his extended play is garnishing a ton of attention. He stops by the Cruz Show to speak on the new EP, United Airlines incident, depression, and much more.

“In that whole time, as I was going through [depression and other things] I was writing it in records, but the records never released. I was like putting it together for album records. Some of those stories I addressed in that song, have been spit on records before,” Mensa said. “What do I have to lose by just being honest and being for real about what I’ve been going through.”

In order for Mensa to get through these times, writing about those times, helped him a lot.

The other day, Vic Mensa actually got kicked off the airplane, which happened to be on his birthday. The incident occurred when Mensa checked his direct messaging on Twitter (something he rarely does). The kid spoke about how he related to Vic and how he can relate to the words within his music. Vic then proceeded to get the kids number so he could FaceTime him. He had a couple minutes before the plane was supposed to take off but the stewardess gave him a warning. By the third warning, Vic was forced to step off of the plane. “You can either grab your bag, or we can have the police grab the bag for you,” Mensa explained.
