Vic Mensa talks new EP, voting, and more
Vic Mensa is coming off the release of his new ‘There’s A Lot Going On’ and the title proved to be true.
Vic Mensa speaks on his song “16 Shots,” and how the situation hits really close to home.
“It hits way close to home for me, and it’s not just something I’m seeing on the news and feel detached from,” Mensa said.
Due to Mensa’s voice within the culture, it would make sense if he sat down and talked to the mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel.
“I don’t really view talking about the world and the events happening around me as being political. I think the specific voting aspect of it is political… I’m more so for reality, I think people forget there is something more to say in rap.”
There is a lot going on in the world right now, and Vic uses his new project to project his voice to farther lengths.
The seven-track EP serves as the first project we get from Mensa in 2016, hopefully receiving his debut album ‘Traffic’ this year. If it doesn’t come soon, we’re fine and we’ll enjoy the new extended play.
