The shooting that went down at T.I.’s concert in New York’s Irving Plaza last week was no doubt, shocking. The incident is alleged to have gone down due to a beef between rappers Troy Ave and Maino However the Bedford-Stuyvesant artist has shown nothing but resilience, continuing to strengthen his career after dropping the new track, “Heard U,” yesterday.
Produced by DJ CMS, Maino announced the new song via his social media pages, with the premier on radio station, Hot97. The track airs a carefree vibe whilst being in the comfort of the finer things in life.
The rapper seems to be showing he’s determined to move past recent events. However more news has continued to unfold. After the incident, Maino posted a long message on his Instagram account to assert that he has nothing to do with the violence on the night. He said:
‘It always has been and always will be good relations between myself AND MY TEAM and@TroyAve @Hovain @YoungLitoBsB and the BSB crew.’
But it has not been simple for Maino to move past the shooting. The concert that night was also attended by the Brooklyn rapper’s girlfriend, Maggie Carrie Heckstall who was shot in the leg. From her hospital bed, she recently spoke out about how she plans to sue the NYPD due to how they have treated her whilst recovering. Talking to The New York Post, she said:
‘These people are heartless…The interrogation started in the ambulance. The detective was in the trauma unit the whole time, while they’re cutting my clothes off and everything.’
