Jennifer Lopez is making it clear in her knew video that she “Ain’t Your Mama,” as she embraces the importance of female equality. She starts a woman’s revolution, creating this empowering anthem and video.
After Lopez leaves a heated argument at a phone booth, the video starts off with memorable quotes from women equality activists, such as Hilary Clinton, Patricia Arquette and Gloria Steinem. As the video goes on she inspires women.
The visual shows JLO being fed up with being undervalued by men at home and in the workplace. The singer and actress plays many roles in the video, such as the traditional ’50s housewife, attractive secretary and a factory worker. After smashing bottles in the assembly line and crashing dinners, Jenny from the block reaches out to all women to rebel against the unappreciative men.
She takes it to the streets of Brooklyn to embrace the women in the video, who are obviously dancers, due to their great choreography. These women were tired of not getting what they deserve but putting in so much to please the men. This is a problem the world has dealt with and still deals since people where placed on this earth. Watch this video as Jennifer Lopez makes a firm statement that she “Ain’t Your Mama.”
