With legends like The Roots, heavyweights like Meek Mill, and new comers like Lil Uzi and Pnb Rock Philadelphia has become nothing less than a pool of musical talent. As the cities stars motivate the upcoming artist Philly’s underground music scene nurtures the talent. Curators like Veli Brand, What Scene, and the Philadelphia based street-wear brand Ammo Stilo help develop artist by offering them unique platforms throughout the city to display there talents.
Recently we had the pleasure of checking out Ammo Stilo’s 199NOW showcase, which featured numerous artist from the city and one newcomer caught our eye. A interesting character by the name of Quann Cruise. He hit the stage like a pro and gave the crowd nonstop energy through out his performance. There was jumping, water throwing, and a interesting shimmy that memorized the crowd. When asked how long he’s been rapping we were surprised by his “Just a few months” answer. We were also told “There’s a project in the works, but its no telling when it’ll hit the streets, I’m just having fun right now.”
