Since Nipsey Hussle returned with his #MarathonMondays series, the California emcee has been dropping gems. “Basic Instinct” is his third release of the series and it’s no different from the rest. Typical Nip, always putting the homies on game.
The short song is just a small sample of what goes on in the hood and how he maneuvers through sticky situations. He simply trusts his instinct, thus the song title “Basic Instinct.” The track also features another West Coast rapper, G. PERICO, and he does the same as Nip, just from his perspective.
Nipsey’s #MarathonMondays was a promotional tactic he had been doing early in his career but he returned it with the “(FDT) F**k Donald Trump,” track, which features Cali native, Y.G. Since then, he dropped “Thug Life” Ft. Young Thug and “Ocean Views.” Nip said that he would be releasing music every Monday until his highly anticipated album, Victory Lap. So far he hasn’t disappointed.
One thing about Nipsey Hussle, he will forever take pride in his hustle. From being an independent artist, to selling clothes, his mixtapes, albums, etc., Neighborhood Nip always found away. Now through his music, he’s giving the game away.
