Miss Jackson has been apologized to a trillion times by Andre 3000 and Big Boi, the members of Outkast.
However, Miss Jackson has never been apologized to by the greatest characters to emerge from our childhood. The cast of The Muppets –– which include Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Miss Piggy and others–– cover the Outkast hit “Miss Jackson” from their 2000 album Stankonia.
Gonzo stars as 3 Stacks while Kermit bodies his part as Big Boi as they sing and rap about the ode to a relationship gone south. In the video, we also see their significant others, Miss Piggy and the chicken, to further develop the song’s emotional reach.
This is the latest of a string of Muppets mash-ups we’ve seen over the years from Adam Schleichkorn, who runs the YouTube account isthishowyougoviral. Previously, Schleichkorn has created mashups of hip-hop classics such as Digital Underground‘s “The Humpty Dance,” or Warren G and Nate Dogg‘s “Regulate.”
Although creating mashup content for about three years, Schleichkorn writes in the video description that “this was the toughest song choice to date” referring to the “absolute nightmare” of editing. He continues by saying, “I’ve wanted to show love to the South for a while now. Who better than one of the best rap groups of all time?”
If Miss Jackson never accepted the sincere apology from 3 Stacks and Big Boi, I’m pretty sure the Muppets can change her mind.
Gonzo’s part where Andre 3000 says “forever, forever, ever, forever, ever?” is on point. Watch yet another classic Muppets mash-up below.
