Yesterday, the hip-hop world gained a new member and her name is Kylie Jenner. Most who’ve been following the drama surrounding the 18-year-old, over the past few years, know that she is in a relationship with rapper, Tyga. Now, seemingly if Jenner was ever thought to adventure into the hip-hop world, one would assume it would be with her man but that was not the case. Lil Yachty, an upcoming artist out of Atlanta, enlisted Jenner for his song, “Beautiful Day.” The song appeared on Yachty’s running mate, Burberry Perry’s new self titled project. The six song project is produced by Perry himself, including the Jenner track.
He turns the original Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood theme song into a catchy, bass filled, instrumental for Yachty and Jenner. Even though Jenner is officially on the song she has a very short part, that just repeats itself. It seemed as though she didn’t take the song serious at all, by coming on to it laughing and messing up her words. You can also hear her speaking to friends and actually hear her friends on the song as well.
Jenner may have also created further problems and gained more hatred from some by the words she actually used. She says. “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, beautiful day in the neighborhood, I wish a fuck ni**a would.” Now it is no secret of the controversy that has taken place about white people using the N-word, even in making music. Some see this as a negative look for her but others see this as her just speaking on the song. Seems like Yachty nor Perry had an issue with it.
Whether this will be the start and end of her rap career is still up in the air, but one thing is for sure, she will need to be a lot more serious about it going further if she wants any success from it. Maybe she could get some pointers from her boyfriend. Or not.
