Okay, so I know you’ve got to be as surprised as I was when I read that KFC, one of the nations, let me rephrase that – One of the WORLDS most popular chicken outlet whom’s slogan for their chicken has always been “Finger-Licking Good” is now coming out with an edible nail polish with the same slogan.
According to praisedc.hellobeautiful.com KFC of Hong Kong created a nail polish line named after the company’s slogan. The polish is edible and is said to taste just like the “original recipe” itself. So far the flavors are set to come in Hot & Spicy and Original Recipe…
Anna Mugglestone, Marketing & Communications Director for Ogilvy & Mather a group based out of Hong Kong worked with food technologists at McCormick (the spice company that provides KFC’s secret mix of herbs and spices) to create nail the polishes; Mugglestone whom had her doubts about the idea took the edible polishes and tried them for herself.
“I tried it myself in the office when they were doing testing,” she said. “It tastes like chicken…It’s crazy. I don’t know how they do it.”
eonline.com/news reports to apply; consumers will put the polish on as you would a regular polish and let it dry, once dried – grab a bib and get to licking and licking and licking. Sounds weird right?
Don’t expect to see these polishes within the U.S. anytime soon as Hong Kong is only making limited qualities at the moment; but they have decided to let the consumers choose on which flavor they like the best, they put together a music video that I’m assuming they hope will help with that decision.
While this is somewhat of a surprise, I really can’t say that it really is – The world is evolving and it looks like the many foods that we eat, enjoy and love so much is picking up and evolving as well; and I thought the Doritos Locos Tacos were the best thing yet, obviously I was very wrong as now edible nail polishes seem to be making the horizon as the new fad.
