A couple of years ago, I was in the middle of a mean Netflix & Chill session, and we were looking for a movie to watch; preferably something that neither of us had ever seen before. After searching for about twenty minutes, we stumbled across a film called Robot and Frank, which was basically about an old guy who found companionship with a robot, which subsequently made him feel young again. It was a really good movie.
You’re probably reading this like, “What does this have to do with Kaytranada’s new video?” I’ll tell you.
If you’re unaware, Kaytranada recently released his debut album, titled 99.9% and earlier this week he liberated a new video for “Lite Spots”, an ultra groovy tune that is featured on the project.
This is the coolest video you’ll see all week; especially if you’ve seen Robot and Frank. With Martin C. Pariseau behind the lens, “Lite Spots” sees Kaytra and a robot moving through various scenes, as the robot quickly learns to dance like the humans he encounters throughout the clip. At one point, the robot meets his match when he tries to mimic a dancing contortionist, but can’t, but like a true friend Kaytranada is there to lift his spirits.
Watch “Lite Spots” below, and if this video doesn’t make you want to dance — and get a robot — I don’t know what to tell you.
