J.Cole is one of the few recognized rappers in this generation who still gives us the real in hip-hop. Fayetteville’s own, has all three of his albums as certified platinum now and gets to add something else to his list of achievements.
According to Billboard, Cole landed a spot for Music’s Top Earners in 2015, making $8.8 million. Jermaine earned the name of the highest paid rapper in 2015. The rapper made $5.5 million off the shows alone, 1.5 in sales, 1.1 in publishing and $788,000 from streams.
After blessing his fans with 2014 Forest Hills Drive in December, Cole dropped tour dates which sold out from Madison Square Garden in New York to his Homecoming concert in Fayetteville, NC. The Dreamvillian then dropped a visual of the 2014 Forest Hills Drive tour on HBO, showing the performance in the Ville; where he also brought out Roc Nations boss man, Jay Z and Mr. OVO himself, Drake. The visual also gave the audience a journey through where he grew up.
Artists such as The Weeknd makes the #28 spot with 8.6 million, Drake makes 7.4 million taking the #32 spot and Nicki Minaj earns $6.3 million making #39 .
Cole always gives the real and something that people can relate too. His entire 2014 Forest Hills Drive project, from the album to the tour gave the Dreamvillians a look through his eyes of the Ville and what’s real. He never disappoints with giving us something we can relate too.
All the Dreamville supporters have been patiently waiting for Cole to drop since coming out with a freestyle, partnering with Compton’s own, Kendrick Lamar. The lyrics in the “Black Friday” freestyle led us to thinking something was dropping in February but nothing’s been released or set in stone for when Cole will be dropping his next project.
