Few individuals can stomach the sight of a brutal beating taking place in a cage. However, for MMA fans this is quite the contrary. The excitement builds as we witness our favorite fighter punishing their opponent in the Octagon. For this reason, we look forward to this thing called – Fight Night!
The UFC has finally confirmed a women’s bantamweight fight between former champion, Holly Holm (10-1), and newcomer, Valentina Shevchenko (12-2), on July 23rd. UFC on FOX 20 will inevitably take place in Chicago, and air on FOX. That being said, Holm’s can anticipate this fight as being a stepping stone in her career and another chance for a title shot. If she wins this match.
Holm doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. She’s eager to step back into the Octagon to annihilate her opponent on July 23rd. After being choked out by Miesha Tate, at UFC 196, which ultimately led to her shocking loss. She’s bringing her A game this time around. Yes, we all know that her loss to Tate was a major setback in her career. Not to mention, the agony of having to hand over her 135-pound belt to the new champ. To point out fans were anticipating the rematch between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate to go down. Unfortunately, those wishes were put on the backburner for now. Don’t even bring up the long-awaited rematch with Ronda Rousey; that seems farfetched! Under those circumstances, she can use this opportunity to her advantage and show the world what she’s made of again.
With that being said, don’t sleep on Shevchenko’s fighting skills either. She has a proven track record of over 60 kickboxing bouts under her belt, along with two losses. One of the losses can be attributed to the fight that took place on March 5th, with Amanda Nunes. Who is set to fight Tate at UFC 200. The much anticipated fight will highlight Holm’s strengths and showcase Shevchenko’s striking force. May the best fighter win!
