Since Fetty Wap entered the rap game, the hits haven’t stopped coming, and now, he’s back with another one called “Wake Up.”
On “Wake Up,” the New Jersey superstar revisited his alma mater East Side High school, where he was a social outcast and a dropped out, to shoot this video. This visual directed by directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, an inspiration for people who are on a path to success without school. The song tells us to get “Wiz Khalifa high and get meditated.”
The video shows an unenthused young Fetty going through his morning routine for school, but once he gets to school, there is an animated twist. While the big Fetty is jeweled up in the hallway singing the hook, the young Fetty is in class uninspired about school. Later in the video, he’s drinking 40 ounces, studying a textbook on “Ancient Greek Thots, strippers are working the poll in the classroom, students shooting dice, students skateboarding, his teacher smoking out of an apple bong and at the end, his mother finds his stash and even she get’s “Wiz Khalifa high.”
Fetty recently won the Top New Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards and was also nominated for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the 2016 BET Awards.
