Chinx’s New Single "Like This" Helps Honor his Legacy

One year ago today the Coke Boys rapper, Chinx was tragically murdered, however his new single, “Like This” helps honor his legacy.

The death of Chinx was something so unexpected as the Welcome to JFK rapper was on the rise to greatness. However his close friends and colleagues are not letting his death end his career and influence on the music industry. Last August, Coke Boys finished and released the anticipated album, “Welcome to JFK” in Chinx’s honor. Now there is a second album on the way filled with unreleased hits such as the new single, “Like This” and “For the Love.” The new album is called Legends Never Die, truly speaking to those who killed Chinx and believed he would disappear for good. July 8th is the set release date. Those interested can pre-order on iTunes or listen to his new releases until the final project drops.

“Like This” is an upbeat song, something anyone could listen to on a nice day with their windows down and just vibe to. Chinx explains, “she ain’t never rolled with a n***a like this, that’s one thing for certain I know,” speaking of his greatness and difference between him and others trying to be like him. The listeners are easily drawn in by the beat, but hearing Chinx voice and the featured Chrisette Michelle and MeetSims allows the beat to be smoothed over, making it less pop and more hip-hop. The mood associated with the song allows his fans to reconnect to his personality. His friends and colleagues can think of their happiest and shared experiences with him.

Though the song was not finished by Chinx, it is great to see how his loved ones create bangers in their own way’s using his voice and style.
