In recent months, Chance The Rapper and Kanye West have proven that they are definitely big fans of each others work. Kanye’s recent album The Life of Pablo featured Chance on his track, “Ultralight Beam” and Yeezy hopped onto “All We Got” on the Illinois rapper’s mixtape, The Colouring Book which dropped last week.
Since then, we have seen their love grow from strength to strength. Chance The Rapper was interviewed by Complex Magazine recently and showed how much he respected Kanye when he called him, “the greatest artist of this generation.” But it seems that the relationship between the two Chi-town rappers is hardly unequal. In February this year, prior to the release of The Life of Pablo, Kanye took to Twitter to blame the delay of the album on Chance as he wanted to include the track, “Waves,” proving just how influential Chance could be to Ye.
Just yesterday, Chance The Rapper took to his own Twitter account to show his admiration for Kanye West. Chance’s tweets certainly showed that despite how much the bromance between himself and Ye has developed, he still very much looks up to him. The “Blessings” rapper said, “I still get nervous and starstruck. I’m still surprised when he likes my ideas.” To add to this, Chance also labeled him as, “one of a kind,” explaining how he is in complete awe of Kanye.
There is definitely a lot of respect between these two. Coming from the same city, it clear to see that Chance and Kanye have clicked musically. With the influence these two now appear to have on each other’s music, you have to wonder if there’s a whole load of tracks sitting in a folder somewhere that the rappers have worked on together. We’ve the bond they have developed, a future collaborative project would not be surprising, as well as awesome of course!

It's crazy cause I feel like I met Kanye the first time I heard We Don't Care. Like he's been there for me since 2004.

Kanye was there when I tried out for the talent show, the first time I knew a kid who passed away, the first time I got suspended

But still, every time I talk to him it feels foreign. I still get nervous and starstruck. I'm still surprised when he likes my ideas.

Part of what makes this duality work is because he is by definition "One of A Kind". Therefore I've always known him and will never know him

I'm content with that.
