Earlier this week, one of Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 affiliates, Rashid “Rasha” Derissant was sentenced 98 1/3 years to life. He was sentenced for the killing of a teenage rival gang member. Now another member of the crew has been given a long sentence.
22-year-old, Alex “A-Rod” Crandon is a GS9 member and has been sentenced to 53 2/3 years in prison on Friday (May 20). He was served by the Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Abraham Clott for his conspiracy, murder and attempted murder convictions over a two year period in East Flatbush.
According to the New York Daily News, Crandon mumbled as he tried to plead his case stating “Please allow me the opportunity to become a productive citizen and raise my daughter to become one also,” that didn’t do him any justice though. The GS9 member wanted a second chance to better himself is “no reason to risk the safety of the public,” said the judge.
“The residents of East Flatbush should feel safer, because the defendant will no longer be able to terrorize their streets,” stated Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.
We will continue to update you as Bobby Shmurda’s prepares his self for his scheduled trial in April, due to his 2014 arrest. It hasn’t been looking good for the GS9 squad.
