Recently, Drake has been seen everywhere from shows to Instagram promoting the upcoming release of his highly anticipated 4th album, Views From The 6. With the release date just around the corner, he and the OVO crew decided to capitalize on the moment and open up a pop up shop in NYC to give out free Views gear in celebration of the upcoming release.
The lines were huge as people were unsure what exactly was going down when the ‘Pop Style’ rapper tweeted early Monday morning, “Hope everybody gets laced up at the pop up in NYC today. VIEWS APRIL 29” with a picture that was accompanied by an address for the shop. Some were expecting a store that would sell OVO gear while others were just hoping to get a glimpse of the Canadian, who didn’t attend the event. It turned out to be an event similar to his Nothing Was The Same pop up in which he gave out free tees that represented the album. While supplies lasted, those who were in attendance were laced with either a black or white t-shirt with the Views logo on the front.
While the shirts themselves were fly, it was the array of fits in the crowd that got the most attention. Hypebeasts of all ages came and showed out in their finest street wear threads. Everything from Jordan x OVO’s to the usual suspects of BAPE, Supreme and Palace were on deck as people lined up for hours in anticipation of the store’s opening.
Drake himself has been pretty busy lately with the release of his latest singles “Pop Style“, which features Kanye West and Jay-Z, and the dancehall inspired “One Dance” which features Kyla and Wizkid. With April 29th closer than ever, expect to see more things like this from The Boy as he gears to unleash the highly anticipated album to the world.
