The annual three-day, two-weekend, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is always full of surprises. Calvin Harris is the first DJ-producer to be a premier headliner for the festival, according to Billboard and he closed out the first weekend, Sunday night (April 17), surprising his massive audience by bringing Rihanna onstage with him.
Deep into her ANTI World Tour, RiRi took time out of her busy schedule and flew out to Indio, Calif. to join Harris on set to perform their 2011 collaboration “We Found Love.” Coming out in a red, white and blue tassel coat, the “Work” singer took the crowd back to “Falling in love in a hopeless place,” which included Harris’ superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift and one of her BFF’s Lorde.
Not only was Rihanna a guest appearance for Harris that night, but one half of TWENTY88, Big Sean, also showed up performing his track “I Don’t F**ck With You,” along with “Open Wide,” his collaboration with the hit DJ.
Ladies and gentlemen, this was only the first weekend. Harris will be back at Coachella next weekend for the grand finale.
