If you thought that Courtney Rashon was just a makeup artist…DJ Khaled’s coined phrase would correct your assumption: “congratulations, you played yourself!” A triple threat as a writer, tv host and entrepreneur, Rashon is kind of a big deal! A former writing contributor at Labels magazine, she’s currently a contributor to Shive Magazine. Rashon focuses on trends, gives beauty tips and gives her two cents about hip-hop culture. In addition to being a print contributor to their online site, Rashon is also a television correspondent on What’s The 411 TV programming that appears on cable television in New York City. “I touch on all things beauty,” Rashon told RESPECT. Mag by phone.
A New Jersey native, Rashon is the sole proprietor of Courtney Rashon Industries, LLC, a full service glamour/beauty company that focuses extensively on makeup application, men’s grooming and image consulting.
WHEW!
She keeps her plate full and she’s not complaining. Did we mention her cosmetic line, #PrettyGirlGangCosmetics? With her experience applying makeup why not use a product you can trust, right? #PrettyGirlGangCosmetics, a cost effective boutique cosmetic line consists of lip liners, Mink and Siberian sable lashes, as well as lip lacquers that include Vitamin E and C to help soothe and keep lips moisturized. Worth noting: the all-natural product contains argon oil, which conditions lips and skins. Rashon counts Love & Hip Hop reality stars, models and pop groups who wear the product. So why should someone buy it? “It goes on really smooth like candy,” said Rashon.
“It has sustainability and wearability. We had a case study when we drove from New York to Maryland, and the project manager was wearing the vivid crush color and it lasted the whole way. The product has staying power.”
In addition to her makeup line, Rashon has a forthcoming book, Giving Face, The Art To Looking Flawless For Every Occasion, a beauty book that focuses on how to achieve the best looks for every occasion. “The book is how to fall and love and appreciate makeup,” she said. “It’s about having a relationship with your makeup and all of the situations; men and women, come across in everyday life.”
The book is slated for release June 1 and you can find it at Barnes & Noble and Amazon. For all things Courtney Rashon, visit www.courtneyrashon.com. Ladies, make sure to also check out prettygirlgangcosmetics.com.
