The Cleveland collective known as Three Seas, has easily become a staple in the city over the course of the last few years. Whether you’re getting raps from Holy, getting beats from Rio The Mechanic, or shopping with ESO at the popular boutique known as Heart & Sole, you have become familiar with the crew in one way or another.
Also hailing from the Three Seas clique is Twizz, who happens to be the subject of this article, as he has recently released a brand new project titled, GOLDEN.
Twizz began working on GOLDEN about two years ago, after he lost his grandmother, as well as his father, who succumbed to cancer. Stating a desire to separate himself from the Cleveland sound and create his own, Twizz says that he was heavily influenced by various musical genres, including Folk, Jazz and what he calls “pure anarchy”.
GOLDEN is quite easily one of the more sonically innovative projects you will hear this year, featuring some of Twizz’s best work to date, and boasting guest appearances from artists in his camp, as well as phenom Marcus Alan Ward, and the ever so soulful Lorine Chia; all of whom he says “stepped out of their world” and into his, making music that is a little different from what we might be used to hearing from them.
In addition to providing us with good music, GOLDEN also comes equipped with a very good cause.
Linking up with Chaderone, who is a Cleveland painter, Twizz will be holding a charity event with all of the proceeds being donated to cancer research. The event will be held at Lake Effect Studios, which is located on Cleveland’s west side.
Stream GOLDEN, below and for more insight on the project and its accompanying charity event, peep Twizz’s exclusive interview with Ohio Streets.
