Earlier this week, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith hinted at a 2016 Kendrick Lamar release. He then indicated that he would surprise release a TDE project this week. Kendrick has now dropped a new album titled untitled unmastered.
The dated tracks collective project serves as an appetizer until the official follow up to his Grammy winning album, To Pimp a Butterfly but word is it will be out in 2016 via Aftermath, Interscope, and Top Dawg Entertainment.
Tiffith, who confirmed that Kendrick’s new project in a the caption for an Instagram video, thanked LeBron James for making it happen. James tweeted the TDE head honcho that his untitled performances — previously seen on The Colbert Report, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Grammys — should be collected for an album. And that’s not even the dopest part about all of this.
Famous hip-hop super producer Swizz Beatz took to Instagram to announce him and wife/singer Alicia Keys’ 5-year-old son Egypt produced one of the tracks on K.Dot’s surprise album. How dope is that? Guess Kendrick listens to the kids.
