RESPECT: Meet Crown Marquiss, 24 Year Old Florida Artist

Crown Marquiss‘ is a 24 year-old hip-hop artist reigning from Florida on an unceasing grind in the music industry. Affectionately known as Crown, he is the flagship artist as well as one the founders of the Local Muzik organization. Beginning his musical journey at the age of sixteen, Marquiss began to officially release music in 2011. Since then he has released seven impeccable projects that are sure to have speakers knocking with his homemade beats and infectious lyrics. Crown’s inspiration is very organic and keeps him going no matter what!

He spreads his talents across the field as he audio engineers, produces, and creative directs; all while maintaining his label Local Muzik as the CEO. Singularly producing his first mixtape, “Hit Wonder” was a remarkable success with hundreds of downloads, countless streams, and nothing but positive feedback. Crown knew then that his talent was something special that needed to be shared with the world. He then went on to release eight more astounding projects and collaborated with other figure heads like DJ Slim K, Robert Gallardo, DJ Shurefire, Famous Kid Brick, Talib Kweli’s artist Nikos IS, and super producer Lil Keis just to name a few.

Maquiss’s musical inspirations include but are not limited to Devin the Dude, Field Mob, Marvin Gaye, and Roy Ayers. These inspirations led him to be the artist that he is today and has allowed him to achieve milestones like Best of the Bay 2013, BET Rap-It-Up tour 2014, a freestyle on Sway in the Morning, and countless other achievements.
