It’s no secret that the youth is running the creative scene these days. No one innovates and carves their own niche into certain genres as the young, determined individuals of today do. Even Kanye had to bark on you old folk at the 2015 VMA‘s to tell you to, “Listen to the kids bro!” Let me tell you, it’s uncommon to find a group in the game right now who is capturing the allure of the public and working towards their goals as the group of rappers who just dropped their first track entitled “Fugeni.”
Allow me to introduce you to Polydom: a collective of young talents hailing from Harlem, NY who are blazing their own trail in the hip-hop world. The group consists of Shindig, Ty Hickson, Flaco Global, Shy Anthony, and Phil Walker. You may have seen them grace the stages of different venues in New York City,–such as Webster Hall– or even stages in Texas at SXSW. If you haven’t, consider this your wake up call. You can’t deny the various flows and unique delivery each member brings to the table. One listen to the track and you get a glimpse of what these cats are all about: they’re hungry and are ready to take the spotlight.
The difference between them and many other rap crews is that they see Polydom as a brand, not just a music group. They consider it to be a cumulative entity which encapsulates everything creative, and it shows in the work they put in. Please believe that each member has their own unique projects in the works as well because they are all grinding from the ground up out here. You can even peep Ty Hickson’s latest project VENUS EP here. (Do yourself a favor and listen to the EP, it’s simply great music) Take a listen to the posse cut below and hear what you’ve been missing.
