Kendrick Lamar dropped off his eight-track body of work untitled unmastered out of the blue on March. 4. The project consist of tracks that failed to make the final cut of To Pimp A Butterfly. Without mixing or mastering, Kendrick and his camp decided to put out the project, unfiltered and flawed. Somehow, the body of work still kept fans happy with new music. Kendrick Lamar picks the first single from his ‘untitled unmastered’ project, “Levitate.”
“Untitled 7 | 2014-2016” possesses the most length, forming the heads of three tracks onto the body of one. The first half lasts a little more than two minutes before carrying on to the rest. Now titled “Untitled 7 | Levitate,” we have the first single off the project.
“Levitate” catches Kendrick in a similar zone as the one we found him on “Untitled 2 | 06.23.2014.” Taking a bass-heavy production and turning it into his own concoction, K. Dot levitates above all competitors.
A lot of new music is being put out by the TDE camp in the next coming months. We have a new project from Isaiah Rashad and ScHoolboy Q coming soon. Ab-Soul has been that TDE member who is always working but is quiet until it’s time to put a final product.
