Future featuring The Weeknd – Low Life
Future’s album EVOL was set off by the first single “Low Life” back on Christmas Day of 2015. At the time, we had little-to-no idea what Future was coming up with, in terms of what type of project he was preparing to release. During mid-January, Future released his Purple Reign mixtape, hosted by DJ Esco and Metro Boomin. The project featured some bangers, including but not limited to “Wicked,” “Inside The Mattress,” and the title track “Purple Reign.” Who knew that less than a month later we would be gifted with another Future project?
Future and The Weeknd have delivered on their promise and deliver a music video to their “Low Life” single. Displaying the lows a person of the high life faces, we see similarities unraveled between the two artists.
EVOL was the first album released at the top of the year by Future. It was premiered on the inaugural episode of DJ Khaled’s We The Best Radio show on Beats 1 Radio. The album tossed Future back into the number one position, topping iTunes charts and proving his dominance. The album was the subject of many back-and-forth arguments on whether or not Future was overdoing his run of hits.
Before making his run with the mixtapes (beginning with Monster), Future had plans on releasing an album titled EVOL. The album never came into fuition and was scrapped. Keeping the title of the project, there are a few meanings to the title.
EVOL spelled backwards is LOVE and EVOL is short for Evol-ving.
